A mole is not more than a chipmunk. These small mammals reach about 5-8 inches in length. They have palm-like, short front feet which they use to get through the soil. Their fur is slate-gray but often appears silvery on fleshly groomed moles. An animal breeder may have a picture or photo of the animal you're interested in.
